Handelsstedet Forvik is beautifully situated by the Forvik ferry quay in Vevelstad and is a living cultural heritage site with roots dating back over 200 years. Guests stay in Grålåna, an authentic Nordland house built around 1750, closely connected to the site's trading history. Lovingly preserved over generations, the house offers five unique guest rooms with made beds, and access to a shared kitchen, living room, bathrooms, and toilet – ideal for travelers seeking charm and a sense of history.
For those arriving with a motorhome, caravan or tent, a small and charming campsite with basic facilities is also available.
At the heart of the site is Kaffebrenneriet Forvik – a warm, open space where guests can watch coffee being roasted on site. This multi-purpose room serves as café, reception, and roasting area, and also sells locally inspired goods like house-roasted coffee, tea, chocolate, licorice, and coffee and tea accessories.
The summer restaurant Naustloftet is open daily from June 20 to August 3, offering delicious dishes made from local ingredients. The coffee roastery is open every day in June, July, and August, and is the heart of the Forvik experience – where history, hospitality, and great taste come together.
