Take part in baking your own Sámi bread, laejpie, over a campfire and enjoy a traditional meal. As you make the bread, you'll learn about South Sámi culture and ways of thinking. Experience authentic Sámi food traditions with local ingredients we've gathered ourselves.

Learn about how the Sámi gather food from the immediate environment and harvest in moderation, about how the Sámi prepare and preserve food as a nomadic people. It is a fundamental value that food should be locally sourced. Our food also includes unprocessed raw materials, such as self-produced currant juice and blueberry juice, lingonberries, as well as reindeer meat from the local slaughterhouse.

We make traditional Sami bread roasted on the fire. Bread has a central place in the Sami meal and was often a substitute for potatoes. The Sami bread does not resemble ordinary bread as we know it in the Norwegian food culture. Choose between laejpie with cheese or smoked and lightly salted reindeer meat, souvas.
