Climb Øyfjellet's via ferrata route just outside Mosjøen, guided by professionals and supported by fixed cables and natural footholds. A mid-way viewpoint offers a perfect break with views over fjords and peaks.
This half-day climbing tour takes place on Øyfjellet, a striking mountain just minutes from Mosjøen. The experience begins with a guided hike up the Helgelandstrappa, a Sherpa-built stone stairway. From the base of the climbing route, participants are secured to a fixed wire and begin ascending the rock face using natural steps and purpose-built footholds.
The via ferrata route is split into two sections, each offering different terrain and panoramic viewpoints. A scenic stop mid-way allows time to rest, enjoy lunch, and take in views across Mosjøen, surrounding mountains, and the fjord below. While no previous climbing experience is needed, general physical fitness is recommended.
For those looking to end the day on a high, there's an option to descend by zipline – one of the longest in Northern Norway.
Participants should bring outdoor clothing suited to the weather, shoes with good grip, a daypack with water, lunch, extra layers, and a windproof jacket. Gloves are recommended and available for purchase on-site.
