Island Hopping: Cycling on the Helgeland Coast

Start your coastal adventure at Scandic Syv Søstre in Sandnessjøen, where your guide will greet you and provide a quick overview of the day. From there, a short ferry ride takes you to the starting point of your cycling journey across the picturesque islands of Herøy and Dønna.

As you cycle along quiet roads, you’ll take in views of the Vega Islands ahead and the towering Dønnamannen mountain range behind. The peaceful surroundings offer a refreshing blend of open landscapes, coastal air, and cultural landmarks.

Midway through the tour, enjoy a break with freshly made Neapolitan pizza at Skolo café, followed by a visit to the vibrant Etcetera – Botanical Extravaganza. This local gem offers a unique blend of plants and creativity that adds charm to the route. The day concludes with a fast boat ride back to Sandnessjøen.

The tour starts at 11:10 AM in the lobby of Scandic Syv Søstre in Sandnessjøen. Ferry departs at 11:40 AM from the Sandnessjøen ferry terminal. Return to Sandnessjøen by fast boat at 5:00 PM, with arrival at 5:25 PM. The trip ends with a short debrief at the dock.Any changes to the ferry schedule will be communicated ahead of time.
