Bitteliten Gård is a small activity farm located on the picturesque island of Handnesøya, surrounded by forest trails and coastal views. The farm is home to animals such as horses, rabbits, cows, pigs, chickens, and turkeys, and operates based on permaculture principles focused on sustainability and biodiversity.
A guided 90-minute visit gives you the chance to get close to the animals, learn about their daily care, and understand how the farm works in harmony with nature. Kids and adults alike can enjoy a relaxed atmosphere and get involved in creative activities, like painting a piece of the farm’s Mangfoldsgjerdet (Diversity Fence).
After the tour, you can unwind at the cozy farm café with simple refreshments or take a short walk to the nearby shoreline. This is a peaceful and educational experience ideal for families and animal lovers.

Accessible via a 30-minute free ferry from Nesna to Handnesøya.
Please wear farm-appropriate shoes and avoid bringing your own animals.
