Join RiverNorth for an unforgettable full-day rafting trip through the Austervefsna River's untouched wilderness. This adventure starts with a scenic shuttle ride from the RiverNorth base near Trofors to the put-in point close to Hattfjelldal. After gearing up and receiving a comprehensive safety briefing, you’ll embark on a thrilling descent through Class III-IV+ rapids, surrounded by towering cliffs and pristine forest—part of a protected Nature Reserve.
Halfway through the trip, you’ll take a break at a secluded riverside beach, where a warm lunch and freshly brewed cowboy coffee will be served over an open fire. The second part of the journey offers a mix of calm waters and exciting rapids, allowing you to fully take in the stunning canyon views.

Important: Do not wear cotton under your wetsuit, as it retains moisture and gets very cold when wet. Opt for quick-drying or thermal materials instead.
Difficulty Level & Safety
Before the rafting trip starts on the river, the necessary safety information and the best possible paddling technique are reviewed. Rafting is a team activity where everyone must work together to steer the raft in the direction the guide wants.
The guides are professional, with extensive experience from around the world and specialized training in river rescue. Each guide has also completed a first aid course and has certified rafting training or relevant experience.
The river is classified as moderately difficult.
Additional Information
You will be provided with a wetsuit, neoprene shoes, life jacket, helmet, and paddle before the trip. If you have particularly large feet, please bring your own jogging shoes that can get wet. Inform us if you have any injuries or medical conditions that are relevant to rafting, such as diabetes, asthma, epilepsy, shoulder or knee injuries, back problems, etc.
